Project TIPA

Did you know that tobacco kills more people than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders and suicides?

Tobacco Intervention & Prevention Alliance (Project TIPA) has been launched to advocate, recruit, educate and train African Americans concerning the dangers of the menthol phenomenon and other flavored tobacco products. Participants will be advised of the serious health risks related to tobacco products and obtain pertinent information and cessation resources; data will be shared to showcase the generational targeting of African Americans by the tobacco industry through predatory marketing,

The Call to Action: Surveys will be conducted with youths and adults to measure their knowledge around menthol and other flavored tobacco and educate accordingly. To highlight the issue, we will work with media outlets to gain momentum, interest, and support.  The expected outcome is to identify individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to organize a coalition that will improve health equity and health disparities associated with tobacco and tobacco related concerns. The ultimate goals is to reduce disease, disability, death, protect our families and future generations. To join the fight, please connect!!!
